Hatik Dance Company was founded in 2011 by Aiert Beobide Egaña, with the aim of bringing a new and diverse perspective to the world of dance. Over the years, the company has explored different styles, blending the elegance of classical dance with the expressiveness of contemporary dance, while always preserving and celebrating the essence of Basque dances.

The Basque language and culture form the foundation of Hatik Dance Company’s identity. Our works build bridges between roots and contemporary language, uniting tradition and innovation to offer audiences a unique artistic experience. In our creations, dance becomes a universal language, serving as a primary tool for captivating audiences and telling stories through movement.

The performances we have presented on national and international stages reflect our philosophy: to combine tradition and innovation, inspiring audiences and exploring the art of dance in new ways. Our shows have been offered throughout the Spanish peninsula, the Canary Islands, France, and even Portugal. Recent works have received five nominations at the Max Awards, and have also been selected for the ACIELOABIERTO network of contemporary dance festivals.

Through the HIKDANTZA project, we focus on teamwork, artistic discipline, inclusivity, and the ongoing evolution of dance, bringing it closer to society and addressing the needs of the performing arts sector. In this project, we work on various aspects of dance training, awareness, and dissemination, strengthening the artistic community and expanding the presence of dance.

We have offered various artistic proposals in collaboration with different creators to date:

Aiert Beobide Egaña (Donostia, 1978)

From a young age, Aiert Beobide has been immersed in Basque dance, developing a special ability to combine tradition and innovative forms. Driven by an interest in experimentation and the evolution of Basque dance, he has been a part of and a driving force behind various artistic projects, always aiming to explore new themes and forms. In 2011, he founded Hatik Dance Company to create a unique territory for artistic creation, and since then he has served as the company’s artistic director, integrating innovation and tradition in his works.

As a dancer, Beobide quickly stood out for his abilities, participating in works that not only drew on tradition but also in those that immersed themselves in the languages of contemporary dance.

In Beobide’s works, consistency and constant exploration are the main focus. Despite being serious and rational, he finds dance to be a way to release emotions and embark on a journey of creation, building a new language based on movement. Grounded in a contemporary perspective of Basque dance, he offers a new dimension to tradition, aiming to leave a lasting impact on audiences.
